Homestead Cottage is a very comfortable 4 star self catering holiday let for 6 people and comes fully equipped with LCD TV, CD/Radio and Internet availability. Located on Ravenscliffe Farm, Fenny Bentley, in the south of the Peak National Park, Derbyshire.

The Barn has been restored and is a 4 star cottage all on one level for 2 people and is full of character and also comes fully equipped with LCD TV CD/Radio and internet availability, along with ceiling fans in the lounge and bedroom. Electricaly operated curtains in the bedroom due to ceiling height. Star rating applied for.

Built in the 1600s Ravenscliffe farm is situated in peaceful rural surroundings, just 1 mile from the Bentley Brook Inn, which hosts wedding ceremonies and other events. We are 3 miles north of the delightful market town of Ashbourne, which offers a variety of shopping, fine dining and recreational facilities. Try The Coach and Horses about a mile and a half away in Fenny for good home cooked food. Carsington Water Reservoir, is only a 15 minute drive away. Curlews, Buzzards, Kestrels, Jays, Yellow Wagtails, Canada Geese, are to name but a few of the birds that frequent Ravenscliffe.

Activities that can be enjoyed in the area include: walks from the door, horse riding, bird watching, rock climbing, cycling, painting and hot air ballooning.

We have a conservation area on the farm, which has been set aside for the wildlife. Our 3 ancient badger sets are a part of our landscape. Each set is close to the stream which the badgers frequently attend.

Cities and towns that are within easy reach include: Nottingham, Derby, Manchester, Birmingham, Sheffield and Stoke-On-Trent etc.

Mainline railway connections available close by are: Matlock and Derby, with Manchester, Birmingham and East Midlands Airports all within approx 1hrs travel time.

Upon your arrival, you will find a complimentary food pack waiting for you. Should you wish to purchase food before you arrive, Sainsburys, Marks and Spencers, Waitrose and The Co-op are all in Ashbourne. For a slightly different approach, at different times of year, various fruits and nuts can be found in our hedgerows, such as blackberries, elderberries, sloes and hazlenuts. Wild garlic sends out its aroma in the spring.

We are on hilly ground. Cattle and sheep roam the fields. The cattle move off for the winter though. Various wild animals live around the farm such as rabbits, brown hares, stoats, weazles and foxes and so on. There are 3 footpaths crossing the farm. If you enjoy walking, then you will not need your car to visit two local pubs. Each can be accessed via the footpaths. Tissington is also a pleasant walk away. Wellies or walking boots are a must!

The High Peak Trail and Tissington Trail are just 10 minutes away by car, along with Dovedale, Milldale, etc.
